ECCO’S PARTNERS

ECCO is working closely with Governmental Institutions in the country, with private sector and with local communities. Officially ECCO has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with State Department of Education, Department for Community Development, and National Council for Arts and Culture. ECCO also has received a letter of recognition from the State Department of Tourism and Culture. Njawara Community, Tumani Tenda Community and the group of musicians and music teachers, Daikyl Chosan, are all ECCO’s partners in the development of our models.

Through the European office the partners we are currently working with are: Malmö Academy of Music (Sweden), Örebro Academy of Music (Sweden), Ingesund College of Music (Sweden), Piteå College of Music (Sweden), Royal College of Music, Stockholm (Sweden), Guildhall Institute of Music and Drama (UK), i2i trans-cultural network (UK).

Through our South-networks our present partners are: Amani Music Ensemble, Bagamoyo (Tanzania), Athletes for Peace, Sierra Leone, La Sonora musical working group . The networks in both music education and cultural tourism are in the building-up phase and we are currently discussing with several potential partners.

ECCO’S TEACHERS

ECCO`s teacher group, Daykil Chosan, released its first cd:
Madirisa, which is a selection from four different musical traditions from the West African region. Daykil Chosan means ‘bearers of the tradition’ in Wolof.
